Marathonas
Just a few kilometers from Aegina's port lies Marathonas, one of the island's most popular spots for swims. It's made up of two consecutive beaches, easily accessible and organized, with lush greenery. The beaches are sandy and shallow, and there are dining options, so you'll see lots of families. Marathonas is quite busy at sunset too.
Aeginitissa
Continuing along the island's southwest side you'll come to Aeginitissa, a small sheltered bay with calm waters. The beach is organized and especially popular with young people, as the vibe is very laid back and there's a beach bar. There are options for fresh fish, and it's also a great choice at sunset.
Klima / Kleidi
After you pass one of the island's most beautiful villages, Perdika, the beach of Klima or Kleidi is a spot locals choose for their swims. One of Aegina's most picturesque coves with a small shore, pebbles, sand, and transparent waters, it impresses as it's surrounded by a lush green landscape. The beach is organized and sheltered.
Portes
In a remote part of the island lie the hidden beaches of Portes. Portes are unknown to the wider public and that's why they're ideal for a swim away from the crowds. The waters are clear and the setting is green. In the settlement you'll also find little tavernas for food right by the waves.
Agia Marina
On Aegina's eastern side lies the island's best known and busiest beach. Agia Marina is one of Aegina's most touristy spots, with plenty of options for accommodation, food, and shopping. The beach boasts the island's largest stretch of sand and has sunbeds and water sports. Because of its shallow waters it's favored by families with small children. At the edge of the beach you'll also see the picturesque chapel of Agia Marina. A short distance from Agia Marina, there are hidden rocky coves for swims away from the crowds.
Vagia
On the island's northern side, Vagia is a relatively quiet choice for a swim. It's a small beach with sand, stones on the seabed, and crystal clear waters, surrounded by pines and lush vegetation that almost reaches the sea. In the settlement there are cafes and tavernas to enjoy your meal after your swim, while just 5 km away stands one of Aegina's most important sights, the Temple of Aphaia.
Souvala
Souvala is a fishing village on the north side, about 8 km from Aegina town. It's the island's second largest port and one of the most family friendly destinations, as it has a sandy beach and plenty of accommodation, restaurants, and cafes. The area is also known for its natural thermal springs.
Moni
Aegina's earthly paradise lies across from Perdika. The uninhabited islet of Moni is one of the most impressive swimming destinations in the entire Saronic Gulf. The pine-covered landscape pairs with turquoise waters that enchant visitors. Moni's beach is organized and the sea is ideal for swimming and exploring the seabed. One of the island's distinctive features is the presence of deer, peacocks, and wild goats that roam freely among the pines, offering visitors a unique experience. You can reach it by boat from Perdika, which is right opposite, as well as from Aegina town.
