Two Greek destinations among the 20 best in Europe for 2025

These are the 20 best travel destinations in Europe for 2025 according to a vote on the website of the organization European Best Destinations. Among them are two Greek destinations.

Over one million travelers from 158 countries voted for the «Best European Destination for 2025», organized by the platform promoting tourism in Europe, European Best Destinations. From sun-drenched places for beach lovers to «hidden gems» and cities with architectural and historical interest, the destinations voted offer the perfect blend of culture, gastronomy, and natural beauty.

This year our country has a double presence on the list. Two Greek islands managed to stand out and enter the top twenty - and no, they’re not the ones you think!

Antipaxos and Folegandros in Europe’s top 20 destinations

«In 2025 discover one of Europe’s best destinations and escape to the unspoiled paradise of Antipaxos», reads the accompanying text of the European Best Destinations list. Next to Paxos, at a distance of 5.5 miles, Antipaxos is a heavenly islet with an area of just 3 sq km and mesmerizing beaches like Voutoumi and Vrika. «Wander along picturesque paths through olive groves and vineyards, offering unforgettable views of the Ionian Sea. Whether for nature lovers or couples, Antipaxos promises a serene and enchanting escape», notes EBD.

A little further down the list we find Folegandros. «Stroll the cobbled lanes of Chora, perched on a cliff with panoramic views, and visit the iconic Church of Panagia for unforgettable sunsets», EBD suggests to visitors of the island and adds: «Relax on the beaches of Agali and Katergo or explore the picturesque hiking trails that connect you with the island’s natural grandeur. Sample local flavors, from handmade matsata pasta to fresh seafood and loukoumades».
