Blue Caves, Zakynthos
The Blue Caves, located in the northern part of Zakynthos, are among the most photographed in Greece. These impressive caves begin right after Agios Nikolaos and end near Cape Skinari. The imposing rocks, the incredible colors, and the beauty of the sea create a spectacle that enthralls visitors. You can visit them either with your own boat or on one of the excursion boats.
Graves, Paxoi
A sea tour of the amazing «graves» (marine caves) will make you love Paxoi even more. These emerald caves are on the island's west side and number over thirty in total. You'll see the caves at Mongonisi, Trypito with its natural bridge, Ortholithos (an upright rock in the sea), Achai with its successive caves, and Erimitis with the enormous Ypapanti Cave. The caves of Paxoi are accessible by excursion boats that run day cruises.
Papanikolis Cave, Meganisi
On Meganisi, a breath away from Lefkada, lies the famous Papanikolis Cave, which owes its name to the historic submarine of the same name that used the cave as a refuge and base during World War II. It is 120 m long and 60 m wide, while at the back a small sandy beach forms. It's located at the island's southwestern tip, and you can reach it on boats that depart from Lefkada.
Paleokastritsa Caves, Corfu
The bay of Paleokastritsa on Corfu is considered one of the island's most beautiful places. You can't visit Paleokastritsa and not take a ride by boat to the gorgeous sea caves that are in the area.
