The famous
The whole world knows Myrtos - Kefalonias star beach steadily makes lists of the worlds most beautiful beaches. Myrtos is 30 km from Argostoli, near the village of Divarata. The sheer, towering cliffs that surround the beach, the pure white pebbles and the seas unique azure color due to the areas currents paint a picture-perfect scene. Its a must to stay here until sunset.
The route from the port of Sami to Antisamos Beach will enchant you, as it crosses one of the greenest parts of the island. Antisamos is organized and pebbled, looks across to Ithaca and is surrounded by green hills, with cypresses almost reaching the sea, lending their color to the waters. Antisamos became famous worldwide from the film «Captain Corellis Mandolin».
Among the most famous and beautiful beaches of Kefalonia is Petani, located on the western part of the island, on the Paliki Peninsula. Many compare it to Myrtos.
