Serifos: The most beautiful beaches for endless swims

The Cycladic island with untamed beauty is ideal for short summer weekend getaways. These are the beaches of Serifos you should dive into.

A major asset of Serifos is its gorgeous beaches with crystal-clear waters. According to locals, there are over 70 beaches across the island (most without sunbeds and umbrellas). Some are rocky or with fine pebbles and others with golden sands, yet all are distinctive and with a special beauty. Below we present the Serifos beaches you should visit.

Crystal-clear waters, a lovely sandy shore and tamarisks for shade. Psili Ammos is considered the islands most famous beach, and in 2003 it was named the best beach in Europe by the Sunday Times. Access is easy and the waters are shallowand ideal for family swims. It is not organized with sunbeds and umbrellas, but there are a few tavernas where you can enjoy your meal.

On the eastern side of the island, about 5.5 km from Chora and before Psili Ammos, one of Serifos loveliest beaches awaits you for unforgettable swims. The view you will see as you go down the short dirt road toward the beach will impress you. It is a sheltered sandy beach with fine golden sand, crystal-clear waters and ample shade from tamarisk trees. Beside it there is another small cove with pebbles. The beach took its name from the picturesque chapel of Agios Sostis that stands to the side. Youll certainly take plenty of photos here.

On the southern side of Serifos, 8 km from the port, in the bay of Koutalas, you will find Ganema, one of the largest - and certainly most beautiful - beaches on the island. Ganema is a beach for every taste, as half of it is covered with sand, while the other half with white pebbles. Along much of the beach there are tamarisks for shade.

Following the road from Livadi toward the bay of Koutalas, Vagia is the first beach you encounter before Ganema and Koutalas. Golden coarse sand covers this beach with its wonderful seabed and unique sunset. Here you will find a few sunbeds and umbrellas - most of the beach is free.

You will find it on the road from the port of Serifos, Livadi, toward the village of Mega Livadi. The beach is not organized and has no shade,so make sure you have everything you need with you.
