It is a traditional guesthouse that was fully renovated in May 2024, while preserving the character, aesthetics and simplicity that make a stay in Pelion a distinctive experience.
The guesthouse opened in 1980 by Sofoklis Garoufalias. He is the person who literally brought tourism to the village when, together with his father Michalis, in 1960, they opened, next to the Church of Agia Marina – a significant Byzantine monument of the village - a coffeehouse and later a restaurant called «Stou Sofokli» (also known as «Klimataria»). Today, the baton has passed to the next generation of the family, whose aim is to make every visitor feel at home.
The guesthouse blends traditional Pelion aesthetics with modern comforts. The atmosphere is welcoming and warm, and every corner has been carefully designed to offer guests a sense of care and a personal connection with the nature and traditions of the place.

Local flavors at the taverna «Stou Sofokli»
On the same site, right next to the accommodation, is the traditional taverna «Stou Sofokli», where guests can sample dishes made with care and local produce. Recently, the space was fully renovated with a focus on simplicity, comfort and better harmony with the natural landscape. The courtyard and the balcony, with mountain and sea views and no contact with any road, are literally «lost» in greenery, wood and stone.
The kitchen operates all day and all year, offering breakfast, meze, stews, grilled-to-order dishes, spit-roast options, as well as dessert, coffee and drinks. The regular menu consists of about 20 dishes including appetizers and salads, while there are also daily specials inspired by ingredients from the area. Whatever you try is homemade and freshly cooked.
