The Koukounaries beach at the southwestern tip of Skiathos - also known as "Golden Sand" - is the islands most famous. Beyond its azure, crystal-clear waters and golden sand, the beach is renowned for the dense Koukounaries pine forest that stops a few meters from the sea and the Strofylia wetland. The beach is well organized, while in the area you will find a multitude of accommodations, as well as many tavernas and cafés. Of course, water sports are also available for adrenaline lovers.

For many, Lalaria, on the islands northeastern side, is the most beautiful beach on Skiathos and one of the loveliest in Greece. Sheer white cliffs rise dramatically above the sea, while the beach is carpeted with perfectly round, smooth white pebbles, the so-called "lalaria". The famous Trypia Petra rock arch always stands there, a sentinel and an ideal backdrop for photos. You can reach Lalaria only by sea with small boats departing from Skiathos port (or with your own vessel). The beach is not organized, so it is best to bring supplies with you.
