Driving along the road from the village of Monodendri towards Oxia, the viewpoint of the Vikos Gorge, you will encounter one of the most curious and beautiful places in this magical region called Zagorochoria- a rare monument of nature.
The "Stone Forest", a geosite sculpted by nature, impresses visitors. It is a limestone formation you cannot help but notice as you pass by. These natural sculptures look as if they were created by human hands.
Walking along the paths you see huge stone slabs, one on top of another, with trees right beside them. This forest of stone towers, formed by the erosion of limestone slabs over time, essentially lies within a regular forest made up of oaks and maples.
It is worth stopping the car and taking a stroll among the natural sculptures to take photos, relax, and admire the scenery.
