AEK plays tonight against Fiorentina, for the 4th matchday of the Group Phase of the Conference League, at the «Artemio Franchi» stadium. The stadiums story begins in September 1931, with the match between Fiorentina and Admira Wien. However, the construction of the stadium was officially completed in 1932 and it was originally called Stadio Giovanni Berta. The stadium, home to Fiorentina, is located in the Campo di Marte area, a few kilometers northeast of Florences historic center. There are several ways to get there easily, as it is very close to the city center.
By train
The quickest way to reach «Artemio Franchi» is the train departing from the main station Santa Maria Novella. The ride takes a few minutes and brings you to Campo di Marte station, from where youll walk about ten minutes.
By bus
Florences public transport offers several bus routes that connect the center with the stadium. You can take bus 6 from Piazza San Marco and get off at DAnnunzio Ramazzini. If youre near the Duomo, you can take the 11 and get off at Gasperi Antonelli or the 17 and get off at Sette Santi Dupre.
On foot
If the weather is good, a stroll from the center to the stadium can be especially pleasant. If you love walking, the route from Florences Duomo to the stadium is about 3.5 km and the time youll need is 40 to 50 minutes depending on your pace and the stops you make. This way youll get to know the city better.
By taxi
The fastest but also most expensive option is a taxi, with which youll need only 10 to 15 minutes to get there. You can find taxis at any central point or use apps like Uber or Freenow.
