The Chalkida Sea Carnival promises a one-of-a-kind spectacle for young and old, as it turns 10 this year.
The country’s only sea carnival gives us the perfect excuse for a short getaway to Chalkida. For the 10th year, the Chalkida Sea Carnival returns in force and promises a one-of-a-kind spectacle in the narrows of the Euripus.
The two-day carnival kicks off on Saturday 1 March with the Parade of Carnival Revelers and Floats at 16:00, on Chalkida’s waterfront. Get ready to let loose at the biggest Carnival party, brimming with imagination, color and wild Latin, 80s and disco beats.
Carnival revelers of all ages, setting off from the Red House, don their costumes and climb onto their floats, with beloved Giannis Zouganelis waiting for them for unique «teasing» and plenty of surprises, along with his musical troupe.
The revelry continues at 18:30 in Agios Nikolaos Square. There, the one-and-only Nikos Fakaros and his orchestra await you, for an unforgettable Carnival evening with plenty of dancing.
The climax of the Sea Carnival will take place on Sunday 2 March, with the closing ceremony «Euripus returns... differently», at 19:00 on Chalkida’s waterfront. The famed Euripus returns, ready to welcome you and tell its story, in a «different» way.
Spectacular Drone Light Shows «paint» Chalkida’s sky, ready to bring the most thrilling narrative to life, in an aerial performance that will take your breath away.
King Carnival, named «Enceladus», waits patiently to be set alight and ward off all evil, with the multitude of fireworks taking their turn to «flood» the sky.
The two-day revelry concludes with a concert by Giorgos Kakosaios. The distinctive young artist will «sweep you away» with well-known hits, set against the backdrop of the sea.
