A taverna with a long history
Its story begins in 1918, when Stergios Dasargyris opened the first taverna in exactly the same spot where it still stands today, on the main road a few meters before the cafés square. Then his well traveled son, Giannis Dasargyris, took the reins and changed the shops name to «Normandia». Since 1960 the taverna has been called «Dasargyris» and became famous for its parties among the elite of Greece passing through Arachova.
From 1975 to this day, the Dasargyris taverna remains a family affair. Today, the fourth generation continues the tradition, keeping the philosophy of homestyle, warm hospitality.
Authentic traditional food
The taverna is famed for its meats, as well as for its soups and traditional stews such as braised veal in tomato sauce and oregano-scented lamb. All dishes are made with fresh, local products, either from their own production or carefully selected from small producers and suppliers in the area.
