Food, entertainment, culture, youthful energy and creativity. The worlds most «cool» streets, featured in Time Outs new list, have it all.
Time Out published its list of the “Coolest Streets in the World” for 2025, with a Greek one featuring in the top ten. According to the team of travel editors and experts from around the world, the key criteria for a street to make the annual list are food, drink, culture, entertainment, and a sense of community.
According to the website, the best way to explore a new city is to walk its streets. A city’s most authentic side unfolds along those small streets with independent shops and creative people, where a new bar opens next to a grocery. From Rio de Janeiro to Porto and Osaka, every avenue, alleyway, and side street on this list is unique to its city.
Thessaloniki: Olymbou among the world’s coolest streets
Thessaloniki, famed for its laid-back atmosphere and outstanding culinary scene, captured eighth place on the list. As Time Out notes, Olymbou Street is where the city’s historic elegance meets student energy. By day, the imposing buildings host vintage shops and distinctive art and entertainment spaces, like To Pikap, a café-bar that is also an independent record label, exhibition space, and online radio station.
