The readers of the renowned travel magazine Travel+Leisure voted a Greek island as the best in the world for 2025. And no, its neither Santorini nor Mykonos.
The American travel magazine Travel+Leisure has just published its lists of the best of 2025 (World’s Best Awards). More than 180,000 travelers and magazine readers took part in this years survey and voted, among other things, for their favorite islands in the world, taking into account activities, attractions, natural beauty, beaches, food, and the hospitality of the locals.
Once again the Greek islands were in the spotlight at these awards. In fact, a beautiful Cycladic island managed to reach the top of the world.
Paros is the worlds top island
Blending natural beauty, tradition, gastronomy, a vibrant nightlife and activities for everyone, Paros is the island where anyone can discover their own summer paradise.
Paros scored 96.5 points (out of 100) from Travel & Leisure readers. There are «surprises around every corner», wrote one reader about the sun-drenched Cycladic island. Readers singled out Paros for its delicious food, excellent shopping options, natural beauty, and the warm hospitality of the locals.
It is worth noting that Paros made an impressive leap, climbing from 24th place in 2024 to first place on the list for 2025.
The 25 best islands in the world
Paros is not, however, the only Greek island that stood out at the Travel+Leisure awards. Crete took 11th place, while Milos ranked 16th on the list of the 25 best islands in the world. Meanwhile, Santorini and Mykonos placed 13th and 15th respectively on the list of the 15 best islands in Europe.
