In Syvota, Thesprotia, one of the most popular seaside resorts in Epirus, unique landscapes and beaches reminiscent of the… Caribbean await you.
Set on a small bay dotted with scattered islets, theSivota Thesprotia, one of the most popular seaside resorts of Epirus, offers the ideal setting for blissful holidays. It isnt called the "Caribbean of Greece" by chance. Lush green hills, turquoise waters and tiny islets cradled by the Ionian Sea create a landscape of exotic beauty. Here we have gathered six of the most beautiful beaches for a swim in Sivota.
Bella Vraka
The areas star beach is the heavenly Bella Vraka, which links Sivota with the islet of Mourtemeno. Visitors can reach the islet by walking through the sea, as the waters are quite shallow. One of the beach’s distinctive features is the pink tint of its sand, owed to the area’s rich red soil. We recommend visiting early in the morning. It’s a good idea to bring an umbrella, water shoes, water and snacks (there is also a floating bar).
Pisina
The other famous and exotic beach in the area you shouldn’t miss is Pisina. The name is no accident. The waters are so turquoise and so crystal-clear, they make you feel like you’re swimming in nature’s own pool! This beach lies on the uninhabited islet known as Mavronoros or Mourtos. It has coarse sand and fine pebbles, while the rocks at the back offer generous shade from midday onwards. The beach is accessible only by sea and there are no facilities, so make sure you’re stocked with the essentials. You’ll reach Pisina either by the boats that depart at regular intervals from Sivota, or by renting your own small boat. Along the way you’ll have the chance to admire the exotic waters and the cave on the far side of Agios Nikolaos islet.
Mega Ammos
At a distance of 2 km. from the center of Sivota towards Perdika, you’ll find Mega Ammos (or Megali Ammos), a beautiful beach with small pebbles and crystal-clear, refreshing waters, ideal for both groups of friends and families. The beach is organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, a beach bar and water sports. Access by car is easy, and there is also parking as long as you get there early.
Mikri Ammos
One kilometer from Megali Ammos lies Mikri Ammos beach. Its waters are crystal-clear, while the shore is made up of fine and coarse pebbles. It’s a small beach full of life. Organized and with a beach bar, Mikri Ammos is especially popular with young people.
Mega Drafi
After Mikri Ammos you’ll come to Mega Drafi,a beach of wild beauty with coarse sand, pebbles and stunning waters. The beach is organized with a canteen, umbrellas and sunbeds. The more solitary can lay their towel on its little sibling, the equally lovely Mikro Drafi, right next door.
Agia Paraskevi
A little outside Sivota, on the road to Perdika, lies Agia Paraskevi beach, whichtook its name from the small chapel right beside it. A beautiful, organized pebble beach set in a lush green landscape. Directly opposite the beach there is a verdant islet that you can reach by swimming.
