Discover Zakynthos's wild beauty by taking a dip in a small cove with heavenly waters.
Zakynthos isn't just the Shipwreck. The whole island is filled with landscapes of wild beauty and captivating beaches. If you want to see something different, it's worth a visit to Limnionas, in the western part of the island, about 28 km. from Zakynthos town center. It's one of the island's most beautiful and untamed places.
Porto Limnionas isn't a typical sandy beach. It's a rocky, horseshoe-shaped cove, with built platforms and steps. From there you can plunge straight into crystal-clear, azure waters.
This spot is ideal not only for sunbathing and cliff jumping, but also for snorkeling and exploring the caves there. At Porto Limnionas you'll find a few sunbeds and umbrellas, a taverna and a parking area. If you want to enjoy the beauty of the place to the fullest, visit in the off season, ideally early in the morning, as it gets quite busy.
To get there, you first need to reach the mountain village of Agios Leon and from there, following the signs, drive a few kilometers of recently paved road that descends towards the sea and ends at a spacious flat area where you can park. Also, a paved road leads to the nearby beach of Porto Roxa. It's a small and equally beautiful cove that's worth discovering.
