Built on the rocky slopes above the legendary Super Paradise beach of Mykonos, Nimbus My Aktis strikes the perfect balance between seclusion and the island’s vibrancy. From the very first moment you arrive at this piece of land, everything else fades away. A hotel perfectly in harmony with the area’s natural landscape without a single design or architectural false note- just as they all should be.
Room with a view
Every room at Nimbus My Aktis is a personal sanctuary. Crisp white sheets, gorgeous light that bathes the spaces, minimalist décor- as if the scene has been set just for you. The majority of rooms feature a private outdoor jacuzzi or pool, and all have a breathtaking view of the rocky, well-hidden cove that unfolds like a secret before you. There are, of course, villas with more rooms as well, equipped with kitchens ideal for large groups and greater independence during your stay.
In my room the bathroom was separated- the shower in its own space, apart from the WC- something that, obviously, makes the stay much more comfortable.
And if one day you feel the need to hit pause on Mykonos’s intensity, the room can easily transform into a place of seclusion: you can order breakfast or any meal of the day and enjoy it either on the terrace with views of the Aegean, or under the air conditioning watching Netflix- yes, why not.
Utopia: Mediterranean vibe, genuine hospitality
I arrived at Nimbus My Aktis very early. One of those arrivals that find you half-dazed from the morning flight. With the Mykonos sun drenching you before you’ve dipped even a toe in the sea. My room wasn’t ready yet- and what followed was the first of many small gestures of care that make Nimbus so much more than a beautiful hotel.
They led me to Utopia Restaurant to have my breakfast while I waited. Everything well-crafted, delicious, and very generous. Special mention goes to the hotel staff who speak to you not “professionally,” not perfunctorily, but genuinely. With a spontaneous smile, a warm attentiveness. It was the moment I realized that the people here don’t just “work,” they care.
And that’s how I got to know Utopia. The restaurant sits right above the hotel pool with panoramic views of the bay, the beach, and the boats that come for an outing, or anchor for the beach’s buzz or for a swim.
The cuisine is Mediterranean, inspired by the flavors of the Aegean and Cycladic tradition. It doesn’t rely on excess or contrived details. Instead, it carefully builds each dish, based on outstanding ingredients and flavor that speaks for itself. You get the sense that the food here isn’t meant to impress you, but to move you.
Relaxation and wellness
At Nimbus My Aktis, wellness is an integral part of the experience. The gym, with its strikingly large window overlooking Mykonos’s wild, rocky landscape, invites you to work out while gazing at the endless blue: to start the day with a bit of meditation in the light of sunrise, or to do cardio looking at the horizon. Tempting!
And when it’s time to slow down, the hotel’s new spa offers a quiet space of absolute relaxation.
I tried a full body massage and felt the difference from the very first moment. The therapist focused precisely on the points where my body was holding tension- and managed to “unlock” them with skill and care.
At the end he devoted time to the feet, applying reflexology, a natural method of release based on mapping the body’s energy channels through the soles. It’s impressive how light the body can feel just from pressure on the right points. I would certainly return just for another massage like that.
Services with care
At Nimbus My Aktis the only thing you need to do is express a wish- and they take care of everything else with care and discretion. The hotel can organize everything: from transfers to and from the port or the airport, private excursions, romantic dinners on the private beach, even events for special occasions such as birthdays or anniversaries.
We had the joy of enjoying a private boat trip- and it was perhaps the most beautiful part of our journey. We swam at beaches accessible only by sea, with crystal-clear waters and sounds only from the waves. An experience of absolute freedom and catharsis.
Why I’ll return
It isn’t easy to find hotels that have both aesthetics and soul. Usually it’s either one or the other. Nimbus My Aktis has both. And the most precious thing is that feeling of familiarity. To sit alone and never feel alone. The way someone will fill your glass without you asking. The look that asks if everything is all right without a word being spoken. It’s what remains when everything else fades: the feeling that here you weren’t a customer. You were a guest.
Behind the aesthetic perfection of Nimbus My Aktis stands Airtec, a construction company that creates experiences. The company was founded in 1994 by Vasilis Karavas and Sofia Apergi and has been evolving ever since, undertaking studies and constructions of high aesthetics and technical complexity in both the hospitality and the private sector. Today, the new generation of the family is also actively part of the team: Matina Karava and Marinos Karavas, continuing the company’s vision.
Airtec is the creative force behind all the hotels of the Nimbus Group- among them the distinctive The Wild Hotel in Agia Anna, Mykonos, for which it carried out the design and construction and maintains 50% of the business.
