The Kayak Group, following Halcyon Equity Partners SCA SICAR's investment to further develop, through acquisitions, its product portfolio and operations, acquired a majority stake in Da Vinci Artisan Gelato, the most successful and fastest-growing Greek chain of authentic artisan gelato.
This strategic investment marks the Kayak Group's dynamic entry into the rapidly growing gelato sector, a field that shows steadily increasing demand in both the Greek and international markets.
Da Vinci Artisan Gelato was founded in 2012 and within a few years established itself as one of the most recognizable Greek brands in the artisan gelato space. Today it has 18 stores in prime locations across Greece, Cyprus and France, and offers more than 60 unique flavors of handcrafted gelato, prepared with an emphasis on quality, innovation and authentic recipes.
Through the acquisition, the Kayak Group aims to accelerate Da Vinci's growth, leveraging its many years of market experience, its organizational capabilities and its strong business footprint.
The strategic plan provides for:
- dynamic expansion in the HORECA channel, where demand for authentic gelato is rising significantly, creating new opportunities for collaboration with hotels, restaurants, cafés and hospitality businesses
- the development of new points of sale in Greece and abroad,
- as well as the further strengthening of the franchise network
Da Vinci's integration into the Kayak Group creates significant synergies, combining the know-how, innovation and strong brand recognition of the two companies.
With the acquisition of Da Vinci Artisan Gelato, the Kayak Group further strengthens its position as the largest Greek group in the premium ice cream and dessert space creating a comprehensive and powerful portfolio of brands that meets the diverse needs of the market and consumers.
