With an impressive audience turnout the concert featuring Lina Nikolakopoulou, Thodoris Voutsikakis and the participation of Alkmini, took place at Karamanou Square serving as a reminder that the effort to protect Poros and the marine environment continues.
Poros experienced an evening that went beyond the bounds of a concert on Monday, June 22, at Karamanou Square, where «Θάλασσα Μάνα ΙΙ» took place with great success. The evening had a clear purpose and message: to keep collective vigilance alive in the face of the prospect of designating an Organized Aquaculture Development Area on Poros and to remind everyone that the protection of the sea, the natural landscape, and the island's identity remains a shared responsibility.
Lina Nikolakopoulou, Thodoris Voutsikakis and Alkmini, together with the outstanding musicians who accompanied them, created an atmosphere that was deeply moving and meaningful, on an evening dedicated to the sea, the power of art, and collective awareness for the protection of the marine environment.
Public participation was impressive. Residents and visitors of Poros filled Karamanou Square, watched the concert with enthusiasm, sang, applauded, and took part live in a musical experience that was widely discussed on the island the next day. The audience's response confirmed that «Θάλασσα Μάνα» isn't just a title, but a shared space of memory, feeling, and responsibility.
The concert took place at a particularly important moment for Poros. After many years of efforts by the municipal authorities, organizations, associations, and active citizens, the recent negative decision on the designation of a ΠΟΑΥ on the island was a substantial vindication for the local community. At the same time, however, the evening itself highlighted that the effort isn't over. The need for steady monitoring of developments, institutional consistency, and continued public information remains strong.
«Θάλασσα Μάνα ΙΙ» wasn't a night of complacency. It was a night of gratitude to those who have contributed to the effort so far, and a reminder that the fight for the definitive protection of Poros and of areas threatened by similar designations continues.
