For the eleventh consecutive year, Edessa is preparing to welcome its beloved cinematic event.
The 11th Edessa Short Film Festival returns on 4 and 5 July 2026 at the enchanting Cine Katarraktes, in the Myloi area, inviting audiences to a distinctive two-day celebration dedicated to the art of the short film.
In one of Greece's most beautiful natural settings, beside Edessa's famous waterfalls, audiences will enjoy handpicked short films by directors from across Greece, works that stand out for their creativity, aesthetics, and contemporary vision. At the same time, the festival presents a special tribute to Tim Burton's short films, giving the public the chance to discover the early creative explorations of one of world cinema's most distinctive filmmakers.
The 11th Edessa Short Film Festival is organized by the Street Art Manifesto Artists' Association, an active cultural organization with a long-standing presence in Edessa and significant work in the fields of art, culture, and social contribution. The institution's success and enduring presence over the years are the result of the collective effort of the members of Street Art Manifesto and the people who support it, with the association's president, Alexandros Stougiannidis, being one of the constant figures behind the cultural initiatives that have left their mark on the city.
Over its eleven years, the Edessa Short Film Festival has established itself as an important cultural institution in Northern Greece, showcasing new cinematic voices and bringing audiences closer to contemporary Greek cinema.
With free admission for all, the festival renews its summer rendezvous with film lovers, inviting residents and visitors to two evenings filled with imagery, inspiration, and cinematic magic.
