The Peloponnese hosts in May selected international tour operators and representatives of international media to discover the Peloponnese through unique experiences.
The Peloponnese Region and Visit Peloponnese, in strategic partnership with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), announce the hosting of AdventureWEEK Peloponnese 2026, which will take place from 4 to 13 May 2026.
AdventureWEEK is one of ATTA’s most recognized international initiatives, from the leading global organization for outdoor, adventure, and experience-led tourism. ATTA works institutionally with UN Tourism and shapes international standards for sustainable development, the quality of experiences, and responsible travel activity.
An international event with strategic impact
The co-organization of AdventureWEEK Peloponnese by ATTA, GNTO, the Peloponnese Region, and Visit Peloponnese substantially strengthens the position of both the Peloponnese and Greece on the global map of adventure & outdoor tourism.
This is a comprehensive destination development program, not a one-off promotional event. AdventureWEEK activates the destination through immersive experiences and international networking, creating a long-term development footprint for the local economy of the Region.
International Participation and Global Reach
During AdventureWEEK Peloponnese 2026, the Peloponnese will be at the heart of the international travel community, hosting 18 specialist tour operators from Europe and North America who represent dynamic travel networks and platforms that design and promote adventure and experiential travel experiences for hundreds of thousands of travelers worldwide.
At the same time, 12 international travel journalists and content creators will take part in the program, collaborating with more than 30 international travel magazines, digital media, and content creation and distribution networks. Among them are leading outlets such as National Geographic, CNN Travel, Lonely Planet, BBC Travel, Business Insider, Condé Nast Traveler, and Travel + Leisure, with a total reach exceeding 30 million readers worldwide.
Through the experiences they will live and the stories they will share with international media and on their digital platforms, the Peloponnese is expected to gain significant international exposure as a destination for authentic and sustainable adventure and outdoor tourism.
Peloponnese Trails
Participants will discover the destination through curated routes and activities, explore its unique natural landscapes, connect with its rich cultural heritage, savor authentic gastronomy, and meet the people of our land.
At the heart of the program lies the Peloponnese Trails initiative, a rapidly expanding network of routes and large-scale emblematic trails that connects landscapes, settlements, and cultural landmarks across the Peloponnese.
Peloponnese Trails are a key pillar of the Peloponnese Region’s strategy for sustainable tourism development and will serve as the central axis of AdventureWEEK 2026, showcasing the area as one of the leading emerging adventure tourism destinations in Europe.
The Secretary General of GNTO, Andreas Fiorentinos, stated: «Hosting AdventureWEEK in the Peloponnese is a particularly significant international initiative for Greek tourism. In collaboration with ATTA and the Peloponnese Region, GNTO supports initiatives that substantially contribute to broadening and extending the tourist season, strengthening Greece’s presence in dynamic international markets and showcasing the country as an outdoor tourism destination all year round».
The Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism of the Peloponnese Region, Thanos Michelogonas, noted: «AdventureWEEK Peloponnese is the result of a mature and meaningful collaboration between GNTO, ATTA, and Visit Peloponnese. Through this event, the Peloponnese – and Greece as a whole – are positioned dynamically on the international map of outdoor and experiential tourism. Partnerships are what turn vision into action and create a sustainable future for our place».
