New hotel from the Thanos Hotels & Resorts group in the historic center of Nicosia.
A new take on hospitality will soon be offered by the Cypriot group Thanos Hotels & Resorts in the historic center of Nicosia. It is Amyth of Nicosia, which is expected to welcome its first guests in March 2025, generously offering authentic Cypriot hospitality. It is the third Amyth hotel for the group, as the first two are already operating in Agios Stefanos and Super Paradise in Mykonos.
A hotel with history and character
Set within the medieval Venetian walls and specifically at 29 Patriarchou Grigoriou Street, near the Archbishopric and the Hadjigeorgakis Kornesios Mansion, Amyth of Nicosia blends harmoniously with the character of the area.
Its interiors date from the early 1900s and retain traditional details of the era, while the original floors, the grand and imposing staircase and the carefully curated decor add to the charm and grandeur of the hotel.
The architectural approach of the project has been undertaken by the firm of Iraklis Papachristou, and the interior and exterior design by Maria Neophytou.
This is an elegant and renovated mansion that originally operated as a school and is now being transformed into a jewel of a hotel, with ten refined rooms and suites, a courtyard restaurant and bar. Colors, aromas and flavors of the Mediterranean, in distinctive combinations for an exceptional gastronomic experience, will be prepared by the hotel chef, Andrew Michael Smith, under the supervision of the Executive Chef of the Group, David Goodridge, drawing inspiration from Cypriot recipes and using local, fresh and organic ingredients.

Guests of Amyth of Nicosia will have the opportunity to explore the picturesque lanes of Nicosia, discover the hidden «gems» of the city, visit important museums and Byzantine churches and feel the pulse of a vibrant, modern community with galleries, exhibition spaces, cafés and bars. All are a short distance from the hotel, offering a complete experience of authentic Cypriot culture and the rich cultural heritage of the island.
Selected works of art by Cypriot artists will also be showcased throughout the hotel.
