Feyenoord - Panathinaikos: How to get to De Kuip Stadium

The Feyenoord - Panathinaikos match will take place at De Kuip in Rotterdam in the evening for Matchday 3 of the Europa League League Phase. See how to get to the stadium easily by all modes of transport.

Panathinaikos is preparing to face Feyenoord in Rotterdam tonight for the third matchday of the League Phase of the Europa League. De Kuip, home to Feyenoord, is one of the most historic stadiums in Europe and a symbol of the city of Rotterdam. Built in 1937, Stadion Feijenoord – as is its official name – has hosted countless football moments, including finals of European competitions.

With a capacity of about 51.000 spectators it is considered one of the most impressive stadiums in the Netherlands, with a unique atmosphere at every match. It is located about 4 kilometers south of the center of Rotterdam, in the Feijenoord district, and is easily accessible by all means of transport - tram, train, bus, metro or even by bicycle, a local favorite.

Metro

On match days traffic around De Kuip increases significantly, so using public transportation is recommended. One of the best ways to reach the stadium is by metro combined with the tram. First take the metro, line D or E and get off at Wilhelminaplein. From there you will use tram line 23 or line 12 (only on match days) towards Beverwaard and get off at the Stadion Feijenoord stop right in front of the stadium.

Tram

Right in front of the stadium there is the Stadion Feijenoord tram stop, so you won’t need to walk. From Rotterdam Centraal station you can take trams 3 and 23 towards Beverwaard or tram 12 which runs specifically on match days. From the center you can take tram 5 towards Carnisselande, get off at the Rotterdam, Breeplein stop and walk about 10 minutes. With your match ticket that day you may have free travel by tram and bus to the stadium, so it’s a good idea to ask at the ticket offices.

Bus

If you are in the Rotterdam Zuidplein area, you can reach the stadium by bus 77 (direction SS Rotterdam) and get off at Breeplein. From there, you will need to walk only a 5-minute walk to the stadium.

Train

At the stadium there is Rotterdam Stadion station, where only Sprinter trains stop on match days. The next nearest train stations are Rotterdam Zuid and Rotterdam Lombardijen, which you can use daily and which are a 15-minute walk from De Kuip.

Water taxi

For a different experience, you can reach De Kuip by water taxi. The Stadion Feyenoord pier (number 10) is just a 5-minute walk from the stadium and connects with various points in the city. It is a good option to combine your ride with views of the river.

Car

The stadium is easily accessible by car, however on match days you will encounter heavy traffic. There is parking at P2, P3 and P4, while for people with disabilities there are designated spaces with access via P2, upon presentation of the relevant card.

Bicycle

If you want to avoid traffic and crowds, the bicycle is the best option. Rotterdam has an excellent network of cycle paths and the stadium offers over 600 bicycle parking spaces.
