Arsenal - Olympiacos: How to get to Emirates Stadium

See how to easily get to Emirates Stadium for the Arsenal- Olympiacos match.

The Arsenal - Olympiacos match is hosted at Emirates Stadium in London on Wednesday (01/10). The state-of-the-art Emirates Stadium, or Arsenal Stadium, opened its doors to the public in 2006 and has a maximum capacity of 60.704. It was formerly known as Ashburton Grove because of the road on which it was located, and it changed name due to the sponsorship agreement with the airline Emirates.

Emirates Stadium is one of the largest stadiums in England alongside Wembley, Old-Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and its construction cost 390 million pounds. If you find yourself in London for the match, there are many ways to reach the stadium, and we have gathered them for you below.

How to get to Emirates Stadium

Access to Emirates Stadium by public transport is easy, as Londons comprehensive public transport network will take you to within a very short walking distance of the stadium and signs near the stations will help you find your way. The stadium uses a color-coding system to designate different areas. Spectators visiting the stadium are in the green zone. To get there by public transport you can use, in addition to Google Maps, the TFL Journey Planner, which will show you the best way for your journey.

Train

Kings Cross is the central station that connects National Rail and many London Underground lines. From here you can travel to the stadium via the Piccadilly line (towards Arsenal) or the Victoria line (towards Highbury & Islington). Kings Cross station is wheelchair accessible.

Overground: Alternatively, a short one-stop overground train ride will take you to Finsbury Park station.

Tip: Holloway Road station is exit-only before matches and closed for up to 2 hours after the game. Drayton Park is also closed on match days.

Entry and exit

To ensure safe entry to and exit from the local stations, a managed queuing system is in place.

Arsenal Station: The queue is outside on Gillespie Road.

Finsbury Park Station: The queue is outside on Seven Sisters Road/Isledon Road and on St Thomas Road/Rock Street.

Highbury & Islington Station: The queue is on the south side of Holloway Road. Hornsey Road from Benwell Road to Holloway Road: Closed to pedestrians, access only in case of emergency.

Bus

The bus is a fast and convenient option, with connections passing around all sides of the stadium. All Transport for London (TFL) bus routes are accessible to wheelchair users and feature clearly signposted priority seats for people with limited mobility. On most buses, the wheelchair ramp is at the exit door and there is one wheelchair user space on every bus.

The main bus stops are on Holloway, Nags Head, Seven Sisters, Blackstock and Highbury Corner. Further information about buses is available via www.tfl.gov.uk or consult the maps of local bus routes.
