The story of Canava Villas begins with a 200 sq.m. traditional industrial canava, which in the past was used for the production of wine and tsipouro. After all, Santorini is known worldwide for its unique winemaking, a result of the volcanic soil, the scant rainfall and the distinctive climatic conditions.
Today, the space has been transformed into a brand new complex of three independent residences, through a demanding architectural undertaking that preserves the characteristics of the original construction and respects the architecture of the site. The result is a unique example of contemporary hospitality that honors the island’s history.
Carved into the rock, Canava Villas can accommodate up to sixteen people in total in a naturally cool environment, where the magic of the volcanic rock prevails. The combination of stone and wood, ceilings 5.5 meters high, polished concrete floors and walls, the decor and specially designed furniture, create a spacious and elegant retreat.
One villa is ideal for up to five people, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, an indoor double bathtub and a private heated pool. The second unfolds over two levels and accommodates up to seven people. It features a master bedroom with private bathroom, a living room with a sofa bed, a WC and an additional sleeping area on the upper floor with a bathroom, as well as a private heated pool with a jacuzzi. The suite is the third space of the property, a warm and comfortable option for up to 4 people, with a bedroom, a living room with sliding door and a bathroom.
