Nestled on Naxos's unexplored side, in the island's southeast, Alos Restaurant is a distinctive culinary destination. Where the Aegean unfurls before our eyes and time seems to slow, the restaurant harmoniously blends the Cycladic landscape with tradition and creative Mediterranean cuisine.

Far from the crowds, in the quiet, secluded village of Moutsouna, Alos Restaurant invites us to savor the sea's serenity alongside refined flavors. It's the restaurant of the Ostria Inn hotel, with a name inspired by the "halo", the luminous ring around the sun and the moon. As the sun sets and the moon rises crimson from the horizon, the setting turns magical, while the area's star-studded sky is considered among the most impressive in the Cyclades.

With views toward the Small Cyclades and striking architecture, the restaurant blends seamlessly with the natural environment. White tones, stone and wood elements, and clay pots of basil make it feel like a Cycladic courtyard that relaxes guests from the very first moment.

Alos's philosophy is rooted in the farm-to-table ethos, as a large part of the ingredients come from the family farm: vegetables, fruit, eggs, and some meats. Fish arrive daily from caiques of the Small Cyclades, while cheeses and meat come mainly from local producers.

Where the waves break on Tigani beach, the day begins with freshly baked bread, kagianas with tomatoes from the kitchen garden, and handmade pies. A special place on the menu is held by the famed Naxos graviera, which ages in the family's cellar using a distinctive technique that involves seawater.

Fresh fish and seafood are served with subtle notes of local aromatic herbs and spices that awaken the senses. The meal is ideally rounded off with a delectable Greek dessert, such as the traditional melachrino, introducing us to Naxian confectionery.
