How do parents influence children's eating habits? What do we do when a child prefers only certain foods? And what should a child eat before and after exercise?
It's from such everyday questions that the «We Learn Nutrition» initiative by My market starts, a series of vidcasts in which nutrition and health experts share evidence-based information and practical tips with parents for children's daily nutrition.
With journalist Velika Karavaltsiou as moderator, the series features:
- Dimitris Grigorakis, clinical dietitian-nutritionist, PhD of the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition Science (ΤΕΔΔ) at Harokopio University and research associate of the University of Athens (episode 1).
- Anna Papageorgiou, clinical dietitian-nutritionist, physical education teacher and holder of a PhD from the Department of Medicine in children, nutrition and health promotion (episode 2).
- Evelina Koutra, pediatrician and children's nutrition specialist (episode 3).
- Petros Syrigos, chef (episode 4).
- Ioanna Aggouraki, dietitian-nutritionist, holder of an MSc in Nutrition and Public Health, specializing in children's nutrition (episode 4).
- Georgia Doukopoulou, dietitian-nutritionist (episode 5).
The conversations cover different aspects of children's nutrition: from childhood obesity and the family's role in the child's relationship with food, to everyday dietary choices, school snacks, cooking, hydration and nutrition before and after exercise.
The aim is to provide parents with evidence-based information and practical tips for the everyday choices that can help children develop a more balanced relationship with food.
The initiative is part of the corporate responsibility program «Together, for every family», which launched in 2025. Danezis Stories has undertaken the strategy, design and implementation of both the corporate responsibility program «Together, for every family» and the «We Learn Nutrition» initiative, and also handled the production of the vidcasts. The first three episodes are already available on My market's channel on YouTube. The next conversations, on cooking for children and on nutrition at school and in sports, follow on 29 October and 12 November.
