A manor house from 1850 has been restored with a contemporary aesthetic. It is located in the heart of the settlement in Spartochori, Meganisi, Lefkada. A beautiful, spotlessly clean traditional village that captivates you at first glance. It is built atop an impressive rock, directly opposite the legendary island – Onassiss Skorpios, which has now passed into the hands of the Russian tycoon. Until 10 years ago, Meganisi was not well known to most people, which is why the thousands of its visitors today call it the hidden paradise of the Ionian.
The guesthouse is called «The Teachers House 1850». It was built almost two centuries ago, in the late 19th century, and for many years it was the villages landmark. It was the center of social life, as all the officials of that era who visited the island were hosted there. The descendants of the teacher Giorgos Politis transformed it into a guesthouse that marries luxury with tradition. Pool-jacuzzi, modern bathrooms, comfortable beds, atmospheric outdoor spaces, terraces draped in grapevines, with period furnishings - unique pieces crafted by local artisans.
The guesthouse offers 2 two-room suites of 50 sq.m. and one one-room suite of 30 sq.m. Each two-room suite sleeps up to 4 people and features a kitchen, TV, air conditioning, frescoes, and all modern amenities. The one-room suite sleeps 2 people and includes a kitchenette, TV, air conditioning, frescoes.
The shared areas consist of a lounge with a pergola and a pool-jacuzzi. Free WiFi is provided in all areas of the guesthouse.
Cars do not enter the villages cobbled lanes and you can use the parking at the entrance of the village, just 5 minutes from the guesthouse. If you want to swim in the sea without using your car, Spilia beach is 15 minutes on foot and a very picturesque road with wonderful views leads you there. You reach all the other beaches by car and distances are from 5 to 10 minutes.
