The 5 cities voted the best travel destinations in Europe

These are the 5 best cities in Europe for travel, according to Travel + Leisures Readers Awards for 2025.

Every year, the American travel magazine Travel+Leisure publishes its own lists of the best of the year (World’s Best Awards), with the winners emerging after a major public vote. About 180,000 travelers and magazine readers took part in the survey this year and voted, among other things, for their favorite cities in Europe based on sights, culture, hospitality, food and shopping options. See below the 5 cities that stood out and get ideas for your next trips.

1. Florence, Italy

Steeped in the Renaissance, art, romance, and style, the capital of Tuscany inspires awe in visitors with its beauty. «I have visited it 12 times and it never gets old», wrote a reader who took part in the survey. What brings us back to Florence? «The architecture is beautiful, the people are friendly, and the food is fantastic», notes another traveler.
