A new survey has highlighted the 10 Greek islands showing the greatest rise in tourists preferences.
Greece remains one of the top summer destinations worldwide, attracting millions of tourists with its crystal-clear waters, ancient monuments and laid-back way of life, reports the Daily Mail in a related article. In 2024, according to the newspapers report, it was a landmark year with 40 million tourists and nearly 20 billion pounds in revenue, while estimates for 2025 point to even higher figures.
A new study by Iglu Cruise, based on search data from Google Trends, highlighted the 10 Greek islands that are seeing the biggest rise in traveler interest.
Paros: The star of 2025
Paros recorded the biggest surge, with a 283% increase in searches for holidays on the island compared to June 2024. Known for its golden beaches, traditional villages and famed Parian marble, Paros is emerging as a strong rival to Mykonos, according to Iglu Cruise.
Skiathos: A natural paradise with a 110% rise
Skiathos, with its lush green landscapes, pine forest and 60+ beaches, is seeing a 110% increase in searches. A beloved destination for nature lovers and for those seeking history, with the Monastery of the Annunciation standing out.
Mykonos and Santorini timeless classics
Mykonos, the international party island, powers on with a doubling of searches, while Santorini, with Oias sunsets and its striking caldera, sees an 89% rise.
Crete, Rhodes, Corfu and Zakynthos rank high
Crete, with its antiquities, culinary experiences and gorges, records a 55% rise in interest, while Rhodes (53%), Corfu (52%), Kefalonia (44%), Kos (26%) and Zakynthos (13%) round out the top ten.
