These are the cheapest countries in the world to travel to in 2025

In these countries you will spend the least money on your trip this year, according to a new study.

Which are the cheapest countries across the globe to travel to? Time Out recently published a list of the 15 most budget-friendly places to plan a getaway in 2025. For most people, one of the most important factors in planning a trip is the budget, as the overall cost of a journey can often deter us from organizing an escape.

The study by the price comparison site HelloSafe on the worlds most affordable countries was published on the popular website. The study assessed the average daily spend a traveler needs in 131 countries, including accommodation, food and transport. It is worth noting that the price to get to the destination is not included - after all, everyone flies from a different direction.

The cheapest countries for travel in 2025

Everyday life and prices in a country play a significant role in how much we end up spending overall. Among the most affordable places is Laos, which came out on top of the list for 2025. According to the study, the daily cost of travel there could be as low as 14,60 euros. In second place is Kazakhstan, with an average daily spend of 18 euros, and in third place Rwanda, at around 19 euros per day.

Ghana (20 euros per day) and Mongolia (22 euros per day) round out the top five, while the only European country on the list is Moldova, in 12th place, with a daily budget of 33 euros.

There are also destinations such as Georgia, which is one of the top choices for a city break this year, and Armenia, regarded as one of the most adventurous destinations for 2025. The list is completed by the following: Burkina Faso, Cuba, India and Nepal.

On the other hand, the most expensive places for holidays are also presented, with Barbados being the most expensive destination - according to the calculations of HelloSafe the average visitor can spend even 300 per day. Next is Antigua and Barbuda (280 euros per day) and Saint Kitts and Nevis (250 euros per day).
