The longest journey someone could undertake by car starts in Portugal and ends in Russia.
In Greece we do not really have a benchmark for what a proper road trip looks like. Even if you cross the country, from the southern tip of the Peloponnese to Evros it will not take you more than 13 hours. So how about a truly big journey? As presented by the Daily Express, the route from Sagres (Portugal) to Talon (Russia) is the longest possible overland road trip, requiring 200 hours of continuous driving.
On this journey you can enjoy wonderful scenery across a series of countries from the starting point in Portugal, via Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, Belarus and across the breadth of Russia.
The longest road trip in the world
Road trips are a unique way to explore a wide range of destinations at your own pace and from the comfort of your car.
Of course you will need to take breaks during the Sangres - Talon journey, as it would be a shame not to explore the countless landscapes, villages, cities and sights along the way.
The trip begins in the small yet beautiful village of Sagres in the Algarve, a location on the coast of Portugal famed for its picturesque beauty and rich history. From there, the driver can travel through Spain and France, entering Belgium and Germany before heading east into Poland.
After you reach the capital, Warsaw, it is on to Belarus and an unforgettable journey across much of Russia, passing through cities like Moscow, Kazan and Chelyabinsk before finally arriving in Talon.
